The Philippine Postal Corporation is a government-owned and controlled entity responsible for providing postal services in the Philippines. With over 8,000 employees and more than 1,355 post offices nationwide, this governmental corporation is a major employer in the Philippines. The board of directors is composed of seven members, including the postmaster general, who serves simultaneously as the chief executive officer. The first post office in the Philippines was in the city of Manila all the way back to 1767. Back then they were mainly concerned with delivery of church documents.
