Texas Instruments Clark Facility - Clark, Pampanga Philippines
Texas Instruments Philippines specializes in the final assembly and test operations of silicon integrated circuit chips The company is the largest semiconductor manufacturer in the Philippines. The Clark facility was opened in 2009 for the assembly and text of high-technology integrated circuits and sensors. The facility cost was an astounding $1.5-billion, and occupies about 77,000 square meters. This state of the art facility generally employs approximately 3,000 workers. The project was a ground-breaking assemble and deliver production unit that produces analogue and embedded processing chips to its technology oriented manufacturers and clients. The facility has been awarded a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Gold certification. This was a first for a company in the Philippines. Additional design details enable significant environmental and energy design features, including a high-reflective roof to reduce heat buildup, and a section of vegetative roofing. Low-emitting sealants, paints and carpeting were used for improved indoor air quality. Forty percent of the construction materials were locally produced, with an attempt to use recycled materials.
