Transpacific Broadband Group Inc. - Clark, Pampanga Philippines
Transpacific Broadband Group International incorporated, (TBGI) for short, is a publicly listed Philippines-based and licensed telecommunications and broadcasting company. TBGI was first incorporated in 1995 and started commercial operation in the first half of 1996. TBGI is registered with the Philippines Economic Zones Authority (“PEZA”). It maintains a satellite Center along with 20 studios for media production, post-production and playback services in the Clark Economic Zone (CEZ). TBGI generates much of its revenue from Internet, Intranet, and local loop service subscriptions mainly for schools, but also for government agencies along with the corporate and private sector. As a major supplier of VSAT-based internet services, along with wireless networking, educational programs, applications hosting, and content conversion, it has strategically positioned itself as a strong player in the Philippines telecommunications market. VSAT stands for Very Small Aperture Terminal and is a type of two-way satellite ground station. The advantage in VSAT technology is its small size. It requires a dish antenna that is under 3.8 meters with most antennas ranging from 75 cm to 1.2 meters. Data rates typically range from 4 kbit/s up to 16 Mbit/s and more as the technology evolves. VSATs utilizes satellites in geosynchronous orbit and relay data (mostly internet based), from small remote earthbound terminals to other earth station terminals in what is called the mesh system design. The Transpacific Broadband Group Inc. facility in Clark is set amongst the playground of Clark hotels, resorts, restaurants, bars golf courses and theme parks that make Clark a special place to work and play.
